Description
Embedded in the top you will see just a trace of the feather of a dove. This came from Basil, my sister’s pet dove who lived nearly 30 years before finally giving up. I saved some of his feathers, and have used them more prominently in another piece named, of course, Basil. Also, buried in the inlay is a small disklike bone from the skeleton of a deer. Can you find it? Do yo want to?
In Memoriam has a maple base, a multisegmented maple column, and the top is a first slice from a cherry log that took only the protruding portion of the trunk where a limb once grew.
